- The Mourning Mother to Aya
The Mourning Mother is one of Alfred Drevis's test subjects who Aya meets early on in her quest, and Collina's mother.
Appearance[]
The Mourning Mother is a young woman with wavy shoulder length light brown hair, and cyan eyes. Her attire is blood covered and dirtied consisting of a white apron with lace design atop and a reddish dress underneath. Her skin is pale, and her face has blood dripping from the eyes, nose, and head, some making its way down her neck. Her eyes are also heavily bloodshot.
History[]
Prior to Mad Father[]
It can be assumed that the mother and her daughter Collina moved in to live with the Drevis family with the mother becoming a servant.
At some point, Dr. Alfred uses her daughter to test out some new medicine he made, presumably without the mother's knowledge which results in a violent end for Collina. It can be assumed the mother eventually learned of this, though was unable to avenge her daughter and was presumably killed and turned into a doll afterwards.
During the events of Mad Father[]
Following Monika Drevis coming back as a vengeful ghost and placing a curse upon the mansion, the Mourning Mother among many other test subjects and dolls come back to life. The Mourning Mother is more concerned with finding her daughter than getting revenge on the Drevis family.
The Mourning Mother resides in the Mansion 2F Bedroom, Alfred and Monika's room, which is right next to Aya's room. Upon entering she approaches Aya and screams at the young girl to return her daughter before vanishing which frightens the young girl. If Aya approaches the window where the keys to the Archive Room reside the mother shows up again and asks Aya to return her daughter in a calmer manner.
Should Aya retrieve Collina's pendant and return it to the woman Collina and her mother embrace one another before fading away and leaving behind a Gem.
During the events of Blood Mode[]
The Mourning Mother's role is exactly the same as in Normal Mode the only notable difference being that Aya doesn't react to the mother screaming at her.
Trivia[]
- It's not clear whether she was engaged abandoned by her husband, a widow or if she was a single mother.
- Many fans speculate that she may have been a former baker due to her clothes. Another possibility is that she may have been a nurse.
